Please join us on Thursday, February 15 at 3 pm - 5pm, in the Art and Media Lab at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts for the closing ceremony for the exhibition Liu Shiming: Spirit of Daily Life, curated by (»Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s PhD student in Art History) with the assistance and support of the , New York, and exhibition design by Caryn Xie (»Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s BFA student). Refreshments will be served, and the event will include remarks from the Liu Shiming Foundation, »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University, and the curator. The exhibition brings together a collection of bronze and ceramic sculptures by Liu Shiming (1926-2010), one of the first generation of Chinese sculptors who trained in the People’s Republic of China. The exhibition coincides with a recent donation by the Liu Shiming Foundation to »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University, which will fund an award for a deserving fine art student. The exhibition has a soft opening on February 6 and will close February 16. The gallery is opening daily from 10am to 4pm.
