In 1975, »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s researchers invented ²Ï’T±ð³æ³ÙTM, the world’s first electronic word processing program.
²Ï’T±ð³æ³ÙTM was developed at »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s by computer science graduate student Bob Stevens and geographers Eric Moore and Rowland Tinline. With combined expertise in editing software with search and mapping functions, they created a word-processor and pseudo-operating system that allowed users to move between all the functions instantaneously – an integrated approach nearly two decades ahead of its time that was then widely-used by universities and governments across Canada.
